It is an uncertain time. What started off as Spring Break for our local communities has become a time of social distancing and quietude.But just because you are social distancing, does not mean you need to sit around doing nothing. Here are a few activities you can still do while Social Distancing. Be sure to contact any location directly before heading out, in case their schedules have changed since this list was published.
For the more adventurous, this is a great time to head out and see some of the beautiful natural parks that Florida has to offer, many quite local.
· State Parks
Located throughout Central Florida are beautiful state parks and natural springs, such as Blue Spring State Park, DeLeon Springs State Park, Hontoon Island State Park, and many others. While all events and activities have been cancelled, many of the parks remain open for hiking.
· The Saint Johns River
Running through Florida is the Saint Johns River, which runs from Sanford to Jacksonville. A variety of water activities from kayaking to paddle boarding and river cruises can be found to entertain any levels of outdoors-person you may have in your family. Some neighborhood favorites include Blue Heron River Tours and Saint Johns River Cruises, which also offers kayaking and canoeing.
Beaches · · Beaches

· Catch up on a Good Book
Once you are done with your gardening, those warm, lazy afternoons are a perfect time to sit down and catch up on that book you haven’t had time for.Need ideas, or finish that book and need another one? The Volusia County Public Library even has a great Digital Library, that can allow you to check out your next book, without ever leaving your home.
· Play a Family Game
In addition to the traditional card games we all know and love, there are some great board games and tabletop games that are fun for the whole family.You can find a list of the “Best Family Board Games” if you need a few suggestions.
· Binge a Movie or TV Series
Another great way to spend a hot or rainy afternoon is to catch up on your favorite tv show or movie you have been wanting to see. With so many streaming services available, the options are nearly limitless.
While bars and clubs have been closed, many restaurants remain open with limited seating or curb-side carry out service. Now is a great time to help support local businesses by ordering food to-go or purchasing a gift card to use later. Some local favorites are Santorini’s Greek Cuisine, Urban Brick, The Half Wall,and The Table just to name a few.
